Formation House in Poland
Grow in Faith - Live in Community - Stretch the Intellect
Be Formed in the City of Saints!
Have you ever dreamed of living abroad? Struggling to find a community of like minded friends? How about a Catholic program that challenges you to become a saint alongside other young adults…in the country that formed John Paul II into a great saint!
Based in Kraków, Poland, known as the “City of Saints,” our formation program affords people ages 18-29 the opportunity of a lifetime! Whether you’re taking a gap year, are a student, or already in the workforce, we have an option for you to live in a faith-filled community and gain formation to live out your call to sanctity:
- Undergrad Study Abroad – US and International students welcome
- Graduate Studies – one semester or a full program in English
- Full-time Volunteer – serve local community and refugees
- Full-time Professional – work remotely or have a job in Kraków
An Incredible Experience
Our program is so much more than living or studying abroad. With the JP2 Project, you will live with other young adults right next to one of the greatest shrines of Europe – the Divine Mercy Shrine – at the John Paul II Center. Together, you will grow in faith, make memories, and share God moments that will never leave you. You’ll walk away completely transformed after being challenged with formation in:
- The Interior Life – prayer and options for daily sacraments
- Friendship & Community – family-style meals and shared living space
- The Intellectual Life – book club and options for classes
- Virtue & Character – shared household responsibilities
- Adventure & Leisure – hiking, pilgrimages, and retreats
One Household - Many Opportunities
Be formed and live in community while serving others! Tell us about your gifts and passions and we will help you find ways to volunteer in the local community – the need is great, particularly among those fleeing from Ukraine. Stays could vary from one month to a year.
Grow in faith with other young adults while working full-time! Live in Kraków while working your remote job (with your supervisor’s approval of course) or those with a job locally are welcome too. Stays could vary from one month to a year.
About the Formation House
Where You'll Live
The formation house is located on the periphery of Krakow at the John Paul II Center, just a stone’s throw from the resting place of St. Faustina and the Divine Mercy Shrine! Built in 2010 to accommodate Catholic pilgrims coming to Krakow, there could be no better or more beautiful place to call home!
The center has one shared community room and a terrace where everyone hangs out—pilgrims, religious, or others visiting the center. You will live in a 2 or 3 bedroom apartment, with multiple beds per room, a shared bathroom, European-style washing machine, and a kitchenette with mini fridge and stove. Most meals are family style, prepared and enjoyed in community.
One of a Kind
An authentically Catholic formation program modeled after the life and legacy of Pope Saint John Paul II.
Are you looking for a community to support and challenge you to become a saint? Do you love new experiences, adventure, and learning about other cultures? Do you want to experience something truly magnificent? If so, the JP2 Project is for you!
Simply fill-out the Interest Form and tell us a bit about you, what program you’re interested in, and why you want to live in the formation house and we’ll reach out to you one-on-one.
